Fleet Reefer Tech

Position Overview A Fleet Maintenance Reefer Technician, A Level, will perform core fleet maintenance work primarily with Trailer (TRU) assets and also other fleet assets. The technician will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance and repairs, complete work orders, and support shop projects to optimize asset uptime and productivity while maintaining a safe work culture. Job Description Benefits start on day one! Schedule: Monday‑Friday 7:00am‑3:30pm or 6:00am‑2:30pm. Compensation starting at $29–$36 per hour. YouTube link: Preventative Maintenance Conduct asset inspection by item level task with oversight Complete small repairs and post PM inspections Ensure PM completion is comprehensive and within parameters Execute PM within internal fleet maintenance specs and TRU OEM specs (with shadow) Work Aptitude & Technical Abilities Support other technicians to learn new skills and expertise Follow a cycle of reading, classroom learning, observation, execution and skill demonstration for each critical learning by the system Work closely with an experienced technician to learn technical aspects of the job Read, study, and test modules or chapters of technical materials Achieve certification at test level and demonstrate technical competency Complete ongoing manufacturer training and certification Support shop projects and tasks to optimize asset uptime and productivity Document detailed work‑order history, including complaint, cause, and correction Travel Required Yes Warehouse Environments Grocery Warehouse (50°F–90°F) Perishable Warehouse (28°F–60°F) Freezer Warehouse (‑20°F–0°F) Skills Specialized Knowledge 608 and 609 EPA certification Base understanding of mechanical principles and ability to perform repairs on heavy‑duty equipment with moderate instruction Special Skills Vehicle maintenance systems, commercial truck components, driver D.O.T. regulations Communication skills for cross‑functional interaction, team building and growth Physical Abilities Heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 8 hours of standing, squatting, and twisting Computer use and software troubleshooting Other Pride in high work quality and first‑time repairs High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to determine tools and equipment needed and evaluate and troubleshoot repairs Years of Experience 5–7 years: Mechanical exposure and understanding of internal combustion engine principles and previous work experience strongly recommended.
