Registered Nurse Unit Manager

Safire Rehabilitation of Northtowns, a Skilled Nursing Facility located in Buffalo, New York, NY, is looking for clinically superb, dynamic full-time RN Unit Managers for our Rehab Unit. The RN Unit Manager will be part of an outstanding professional team doing meaningful work to improve the quality of life, health, and comfort of our residents. Unit Manager Responsibilities Maintains nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures. Completes resident care requirements by scheduling and assigning nurses and staff. Establishes a compassionate environment by providing support to residents and families. Provides information to residents and the health care team. Maintains a safe and clean working environment. Maintains resident confidence by monitoring confidential information processing. Maintains documentation of resident care services. Maintains nursing supplies inventory. Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams. Develops an individualized comprehensive care plan. Maintains timely documentation of patients. Maintains supervision of staff and facility. Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired resident outcomes. Assesses, reviews, and ensures that daily resident care needs are met and appropriate resident care is given. Addresses resident and staff concerns to promote quality care. Supervises staff nurses and CNAs to ensure their completion and quality of duties. Makes rounds of resident rooms to observe and evaluate residents’ physical/emotional state. Reviews orders and care plans. Provides direct nursing care as necessary. Performs all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures. Requirements Valid, current RN license. Knowledgeable of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long‑term care. At least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity in a long‑term care facility. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. What We Offer Competitive pay scale.
