Plasma Center Nurse- LPN

Job Description Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services. Supports plasma center operations and reports to the Plasma Center Manager. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results. Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary to provide the results of unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats in the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; may include a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfilled state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completed FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
