Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of productions shift operations by performing the following: Principal Responsibilities: • Direct supervision of work crews processing materials to customer specification in a safe and productive manner. • Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create schedules that meet both internal and external needs. • Assigns operating equipment and personnel to accomplish efficient material flow on a timely and cost-effective basis. • Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area to meet customer specifications. • Interprets product specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure production deadlines are met. • Coordinates quality control inspections for compliance to standard specifications. • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, environmental requirements, equipment performance, and quality of product. • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. • Maintains time and production records. • Participates and contributes to company safety program. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Management duties include supervision of exempt and/or non-exempt staff. This includes but is not limited to, conducting performance evaluations and improvement plans, approving paid time-off (PTO), assigning or delegating work, providing on-the-job training, giving guidance to staff, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions.
