About The Role

The Shipping Clerk plays a key role in ensuring products are accurately prepared, documented, and shipped to customers on time. In this position, you will verify outgoing shipments, maintain shipping records, prepare products for shipment, and support efficient warehouse operations while meeting quality and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the shipment of goods produced and materials used in production/storage of goods destined for sale to customers.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Unpack, examine, and route outgoing shipments; identify and resolve discrepancies in outgoing orders as needed.
• Operate lift trucks, hand trucks, and stretch wrap banders.
• Perform all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of outgoing shipments and materials.
• Make arrangements for pick-up by carriers specified on customer purchase orders.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Ensure an adequate supply of shipping materials is available at all times.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition and follow all prescribed safety regulations.

Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of experience in print or manufacturing.
• May be required to complete and pass a Public Trust Security Clearance

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This position works on the production floor in an industrial warehouse setting.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
