Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Speech Language Pathologist Discipline: Therapy Start Date: 09/13/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), specializing in inpatient care, is responsible for evaluating and treating patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders within an acute care setting. The role involves conducting diagnostic assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. The position is based in a healthcare facility located in Palo Alto, California. Job Details Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The assignment begins on 09/13/2026. Required Qualifications: Graduate of an approved Speech Language Pathology curriculum with either a Master's or Doctorate degree; current SLP (Speech Language Pathologist) license; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; at least 3 years of acute care experience, preferably in a level 1 trauma center; competency and independence with videofluoroscopic swallow studies. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in inpatient adult settings; familiarity with videofluoroscopic swallow assessments. Additional Information: The SLP performs clinical evaluations, develops and modifies therapeutic interventions, manages a caseload, ensures accurate documentation and discharge planning, and participates in interdisciplinary care planning. This role involves assessing and treating communication, speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing impairments, adhering to professional and organizational standards.
