Lakewood also features extensive cultural programming and recreation areas. The 38,000-square-foot Lakewood Cultural Center boasts a 300-seat theater and gallery space, while the Lakewood Heritage Center includes 10 historic structures and 30,000 artifacts, plus a popular outdoor amphitheater. Recently named a Certified Colorado Creative District, 40 West Arts along the West Colfax Corridor in the heart of Lakewood has more than 20 public art installations, multiple performing arts venues and a dozen galleries. Explore Lakewood Valor Point Domiciliary Valor Point, which opened in 2013, is a residential treatment site for veterans who need assistance and treatment intervention to gain skills that will help them move to independent living. The facility includes 40 rooms total, 32 for men and 8 for women.
Position Overview
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition.
- Collaborating with healthcare team members and other interdisciplinary teams to facilitate positive patient care outcomes.
- Providing a full range of complex and comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems.
- Accountable for meeting and maintaining the qualification standards and functional statements of the job.
- Demonstrates organizational skills which enable completion of work in a timely manner with demonstrated ability to assume a leadership role in a patient-centered program.
- Establishes effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Prepare patients for surgical and diagnostic procedures and assist with procedures as necessary.
- Conduct initial assessment on patients; develop nursing care plans based on identified patient needs, coordinate with ancillary services to assure provision of care, document all plans, assessments and care provided. Provide patient and family education throughout the hospitalization. Initiate discharge planning.
Qualifications
- Diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred) from an accredited program, college, or university.
- Hold a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Has been practicing actively as an RN for at least the last two years.
- Capable of providing complex and comprehensive nursing care for adult medical and surgical patients.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications.
- Has documented training and skills verification.
- Has been actively practicing as a registered nurse in primary care for two years.
