Physician - Academic Surgical Oncologist

Position Title Physician – Academic Surgical Oncologist (Days - Full Time) Overview The University of Kansas Health System and the Department of Surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center are seeking a talented Surgical Oncologist specializing in gastrointestinal malignancies and peritoneal surface diseases to join an expanding, multidisciplinary team. The selected candidate will provide patient-centered surgical oncology care, including initial evaluation, complex surgical treatment, and longitudinal management, while actively supporting clinical excellence, education, research, and academic advancement within our NCI‑designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Responsibilities • Deliver comprehensive surgical oncology care and participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards.• Provide inpatient consultations, shared call coverage, and oversee pre‑operative, operative, post‑operative, and survivorship care.• Engage in active clinical, translational, or outcomes‑based research, collaborating across disciplines to advance scholarly productivity and contribute to peer‑reviewed publications.• Mentor medical students and general surgery residents in inpatient, outpatient, and operative settings, fostering next‑generation academic surgeons.
