Position Details

• Position: Acute Hemodialysis Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: Day Shift – 3 x 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)

Schedule and Requirements

• 3 x 12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No routine call for this day shift position.
• No floating required.
• Self-scheduling.
• RTO must be submitted before booking. No additional RTO will be approved after signing.
• Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team during emergency events.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Acute Hemodialysis experience
• Acute inpatient hemodialysis experience required
• Recent (within the last year) experience with:
  • Fresenius Hemodialysis equipment
  • Baxter Peritoneal Dialysis equipment
• CAPD experience is helpful for day shift.
• Experience caring for:
  • End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
  • Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)
  • Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
  • Peritoneal dialysis failure/infection
  • Transplant rejection requiring hemodialysis

Required Certifications

• BLS
• NC RN License or Compact License (Pending license accepted for submission)

Preferred Certifications

• ACLS
• CDN (Certified Dialysis Nurse)
• CNN (Certified Nephrology Nurse)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide acute inpatient hemodialysis treatments.
• Perform bedside dialysis in ICU/PCU and dialysis unit.
• Operate Fresenius T Hemodialysis Machines with CliC and Bibag .
• Manage Baxter Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) treatments.
• Monitor patients receiving dialysis, including ventilated and critically ill patients.
• Utilize Epic documentation, Pyxis medication system, and Voalte communication.
• Deliver 1:1 or 1:2 patient care while ensuring safe dialysis treatment.
