Policy AnalystAs a Policy Analyst, GS-0301-13/14/15, your typical work assignments may include the following depending on the branch you are selected for: Federal Financial Management Branch: Develops, analyzes, and evaluates government-wide financial management policies, programs, and initiatives. Leads and coordinates complex financial management projects, including developing project plans, managing milestones, resolving implementation issues, and coordinating across federal agencies and other stakeholders. Develops and evaluates policies and guidance related to federal financial reporting, accounting standards, financial management systems, and internal controls. Conducts analyses of complex financial management issues and develops recommendations to support OMB and Administration policy decisions. Coordinates government-wide implementation of financial management policies and initiatives and provides technical assistance and guidance to federal agencies. Federal Financial Assistance or Real Property Branch: Develops, analyzes, and evaluates government-wide policy on federal financial assistance or real property. Conducts independent special studies to support financial, budget, and regulatory policies regarding federal financial assistance or real property. Measures costs and effects of alternative policy choices to recommend actionable options. Engages with stakeholders across federal agencies, state and local governments, and Congress. Coordinates interagency policy development and builds multi-stakeholder consensus. Oversees government-wide project plans for new policy implementation. Reviews proposed budget actions, legislation, and regulations. Serves as the resident OMB expert for federal financial assistance or real property. Supervises junior staff, interns, detailees, and interagency task forces. Assists supervisors in communicating key policies, priorities, and operational guidelines.
