Job Summary

The Dimensional Inspection Supervisor leads the team responsible for verifying that aerospace components meet engineering drawings, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards. This role oversees daily inspection priorities, develops inspectors, resolves measurement issues, and partners with Manufacturing and Engineering to support safe, reliable, and on-time production.

Salary Range for position: $85,769 $107,211

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach dimensional inspectors, including work assignments, training, performance feedback, and qualification planning.
• Plan inspection coverage for incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections based on production needs and product risk.
• Ensure inspection methods correctly interpret drawings, specifications, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and customer requirements.
• Oversee the use of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), manual measuring equipment, fixtures, and other approved metrology tools.
• Review inspection results and records for accuracy, traceability, and completeness. Escalate discrepancies promptly and support containment and disposition of nonconforming product.
• Partner with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, and Engineering to investigate dimensional issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain appropriate calibration status, equipment readiness, and measurement practices across the inspection area.
• Monitor workload, turnaround time, repeat findings, and other inspection performance measures; use the results to improve flow and reduce escapes.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, technical rigor, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in the operation of and compliance with all safety, hazardous material handling and disposal requirements in accordance with government regulations and company procedures.
• Perform Process and product audits.
• Prepare inspection reports, document observations such as non-conformances.
• Communicate ideas, problems and suggestions to supervisory authority.
• Maintain a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with all internal, customer and government regulations.
• Comply with Human Resources policies in a manner that is fair and equitable for all employees while ensuring optimum productivity and resource utilization and a safe workplace.
• Fully comply with the Company "Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government" in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the government.
• Perform other assignments and tasks as directed.

Job Qualifications

Education

• High School or technical school graduate (preferred two years engineering or technical college education).

Formal Qualifications

• MUST BE A U.S Citizen.
• Experience with aerospace quality management systems, including AS9100.
• Familiarity with AS9102 first article inspection requirements.
• Experience with CMM programming, inspection planning, or measurement system improvement.
• Background in root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement.
• Technical degree, metrology training, or relevant quality certification.
