Painter/Sandblaster Physical Location: Lock & Dam 5, 12554 Highway 61, Minnesota City, MN 55959-9756 Department: Construction Overview Painter/Sandblaster opportunity located at a US Army Corps of Engineers managed dam facility. Job Requirements Minimum Experience: 1 Year Industrial Painting Experience Ability to pass drug test Ability to pass Workwell test and meet minimum lifting requirements Must possess a current driver's license with acceptable driving record Be familiar with or have the ability to follow US Army Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1 and OSHA Safety Regulations Responsibilities Abrasive blasting operations Paint preparation work Application of USACE Vinyl and Industrial Coatings via Spray Application, Brush Application, & Roller Application Abrasive / debris recovery operations Mobilizing, setting up for abrasive blasting, painting and recovery operations Prepping the gates for painting operations, including protection or removal of components not to be painted Installation, maintenance and removal of containment structure Installation, maintenance and removal of ambient condition control components and equipment Installation of scaffolding to be used for painting operations / containment / ambient condition control Personnel performing duties to support surface preparation, painting and debris removal operations The operation and maintenance of all equipment used for surface preparation, painting, debris removal and support operations Note: This role is a seasonal position aligned with project needs. Summary of Position Painter/Sandblaster for a Dam gate refurbishment project performed seasonally between April 1st to November 30th in 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027. Qualifications Must be able to work in a team environment Proficiency in Construction Safety including OSHA 1926 & 1910 and EM 385-1-1 Ability to adapt to changes quickly Strong communication skills Ability and willingness to travel Experience spraying conventional and airless coatings Abrasive Blasting Experience Experience using fall protection AMPP/SSPC Certifications are a plus (e.g., C7, C12, C14, CAS) Ability to obtain badging for access to military installations is a plus Flexibility in working hours and willingness to work extended hours Able to work at heights Compensation and Benefits Hourly Rate and Fringe Based on Prevailing/Davis-Bacon Wage Rates (base + fringe) Health Benefits Prevailing Wage Pension Plan Full Time 40 to 60 Hours per Week Applications and resumes must meet the minimum experience requirements and include at least three employer references.
