General Surgeon

General Surgeon (Locums)

A healthcare system is seeking a General Surgeon to provide locums coverage. The surgeon will handle inpatient consults, elective cases, and emergent surgical procedures.

About the Opportunity

Schedule: OR blocks and on-call coverage
Specialty: General Surgery

Key Responsibilities

Perform general surgical procedures (appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, etc.).
Provide inpatient surgical consults and follow-up care.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, OR staff, and specialists.
Participate in trauma coverage if required.
Complete operative and post-op documentation in EMR.

Qualifications

Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
Licensure: Active and unrestricted state license.
Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
Preferred: Trauma or acute care surgery experience.
