Laundress/Housekeeper for UHNW Family in Tribeca Location: Tribeca, NYC Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Compensation: $55–$60/hour DOE Full Benefits A UHNW family in Tribeca is seeking an experienced, polished, and energetic Laundress/Housekeeper to join their established household team. The ideal candidate is a true career household professional with extensive experience working in formal, high-end private residences, ideally in Manhattan. This is a hands-on Laundress/Housekeeper position, not a House Manager or Household Assistant role. The family is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys and takes pride in laundry, garment care, ironing, steaming, and detailed housekeeping. The right candidate will have exceptional knowledge of luxury fabrics, couture garments, fine linens, and specialized laundering techniques, along with experience caring for fine furnishings, specialty surfaces, antiques, and valuable household pieces. Personality and team fit are equally important. The household is looking for someone who is warm, upbeat, energetic, polished, and highly professional. Strong communication skills are essential, as the principals interact directly with household staff. Candidates should also be proactive, self-directed, and comfortable managing their responsibilities without needing daily instruction. Responsibilities Laundry, Garment & Linen Care Manage all household laundry, including clothing, bedding, towels, table linens, and delicate fabrics Expertly care for luxury garments, couture pieces, fine fabrics, and specialty items Sort garments according to fabric, color, construction, and care requirements Hand-wash delicate items using appropriate techniques Perform stain treatment and minor garment repairs as needed Iron and steam clothing and household linens to professional standards Maintain crisp, beautifully presented linens and formalwear Ensure garments are ready-to-wear and properly organized Maintain closets, wardrobes, and linen storage areas Follow specific garment-care instructions and recognize when professional specialty cleaning is required Detailed Housekeeping Work alongside another housekeeper to maintain the residence to exceptional standards Perform detailed cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, common areas, and other household spaces Dust, vacuum, mop, sanitize, and polish Make beds, change linens, and maintain beautifully presented bedrooms Properly clean and care for fine furniture, specialty finishes, antiques, silver, and valuable household pieces Follow precise cleaning and care instructions for delicate surfaces and furnishings Organize closets, cabinets, and storage areas Replenish toiletries and household supplies Notice and report maintenance or repair needs Proactively identify areas requiring attention without waiting for direction Requirements Several years of recent, hands-on Laundress/Housekeeper experience in formal UHNW private households Experience working in high-end Manhattan residences strongly preferred Advanced laundry skills, including professional-level ironing, steaming, hand-washing, stain treatment, and fine fabric care Extensive experience caring for luxury garments, couture pieces, and fine household linens Strong hands-on housekeeping experience and a genuine willingness to clean Experience caring for fine furnishings, antiques, specialty surfaces, and valuable household items Ability to work independently and proactively without requiring constant direction Excellent communication and comprehension skills Comfortable communicating directly with principals Experience working collaboratively as part of an established household team Warm, friendly, positive, and energetic personality while maintaining a high level of professionalism Exceptional attention to detail and high standards of presentation Discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of confidentiality Strong work ethic and excellent time-management skills Seeking a long-term position and genuinely interested in growing with one family for many years Please visit to view full details and to apply.
