This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact by educating and mentoring EMS students in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.Why Join Us?Shape the Future of EMS – Teach in GBC's Associate of Applied Science (AAS)/ Certificate Paramedic Program and EMT & AEMT courses, and contribute to other EMS coursework/programming.Diverse Teaching Opportunities – Engage students through classroom, online, simulation, and clinical instruction.Collaborative Environment – Be part of a supportive team of EMS and Health Sciences educators across rural Nevada.Make a Difference – Play a key role in developing skilled EMS providers for the healthcare workforce.Qualifications:Education:Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred) from an accredited institutionExperience & Licensure:Minimum 3 years of experience as a practicing paramedic.Eligible for Nevada Paramedic certification/licensure (licensure required upon hire).Prior teaching experience is a plus but not required.Skills & Attributes:Passion for teaching and mentoring EMS students.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to oversee students in laboratory and clinical settings.Experience with distance learning and instruction is desirable.Key Responsibilities:Teach AAS/Cert Paramedic programmatic, EMT, & AEMT courses.Provide hands-on instruction in simulation labs and clinical environments.Coordinate clinical placementsEvaluate student performance and ensure achievement of learning outcomes.Participate in curriculum development, accreditation activities, and student advisement.Contribute to the EMS department, School of Health Sciences, and college committees.Travel:The position may require driving to other GBC campuses, with or without reasonable accommodation as per the Americans with Disabilities Act, with possible overnight stays to coordinate students and programs throughout the service area. There must be a commitment to the GBC mission to serve rural Nevada.Compensation GradeAcademic Faculty – 2B Contract - 9 month (end of August to mid May) working contract paid over 12 months.The budgeted salary range for this position is $55,000 - $85,000Salary is based on relatable education and experience, internal equity and budgets.Remarkable RetirementOur retirement plan is beyond compare.
