Role: ServiceNow PPM/SPM Functional & Technical Consultant

Position Summary

accel bi corporation is seeking an experienced ServiceNow PPM/SPM Consultant to support the assessment, stabilization, configuration, and optimization of an existing ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management environment.

The consultant will work closely with the customer's PMO, project leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams to assess the current implementation, validate requirements, identify configuration and data gaps, prioritize remediation activities, improve portfolio/project reporting, and deliver a stable and maintainable ServiceNow SPM solution.

The consultant should have strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), formerly IT Business Management/PPM , with particular expertise in Project and Portfolio Management, dashboards and reporting, requirements validation, data remediation, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a current-state assessment of the existing ServiceNow SPM/PPM implementation.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops to understand PMO objectives, business processes, reporting requirements, and current pain points.
• Review and validate requirements against the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
• Assess existing SPM configuration, including forms, related lists, workspaces, workflows, business rules, security, reports, and dashboards.
• Perform gap analysis between current functionality and required business capabilities.
• Identify, document, and prioritize remediation activities based on business impact, risk, dependencies, and implementation effort.
• Configure and optimize ServiceNow SPM using out-of-the-box/native functionality wherever practical , minimizing unnecessary customization.
• Support configuration and improvement of Project Management, Portfolio Management, Project Workspace, Demand Management, Resource Management, Financial Planning, and related SPM capabilities , as applicable to the approved scope.
• Improve portfolio and project dashboards, executive reporting, project health indicators, milestone visibility, and analytics.
• Review and remediate data-quality issues affecting project, portfolio, RIDAC, milestone, financial, and reporting information.
• Validate data relationships and integrations impacting SPM reporting.
• Configure or enhance workflows using Flow Designer and supported ServiceNow configuration capabilities where required.
• Review roles, permissions, and ACLs relevant to the implemented solution.
• Support functional, system/integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Track defects through resolution and retesting.
• Maintain configuration and implementation documentation.
• Provide administrator/user training and knowledge transfer
• Support production-readiness review and final business acceptance.
• Participate in project status meetings, demonstrations, risk/issue reviews, and stakeholder decision sessions.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of ServiceNow experience, with substantial SPM/PPM implementation experience.
• Experience assessing or stabilizing an existing ServiceNow implementation , rather than only greenfield implementations.
• Demonstrated experience configuring ServiceNow SPM/PPM for enterprise PMO environments.
• Strong ServiceNow reporting and Performance Analytics experience.
• Experience troubleshooting data and reporting discrepancies.
• Experience working directly with executives, PMO leadership, project managers, business users, and technical teams.
• Experience delivering ServiceNow solutions in government or other highly governed environments is preferred.
• ServiceNow certifications such as CSA CIS-SPM/PPM or applicable SPM certification , or related ServiceNow credentials are preferred.

Key Deliverables

The consultant will contribute to deliverables such as current-state assessment, requirements/RTM validation, configuration assessment, gap analysis, prioritized remediation backlog, SPM configuration improvements, dashboard and reporting enhancements, data-quality remediation, test cases and defect tracking, UAT support, configuration documentation, administrator/user guidance, knowledge-transfer materials, and production-readiness/acceptance activities.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is not simply a ServiceNow developer. We need someone who can understand the PMO's business problem, analyze the existing SPM implementation, determine the root cause of issues, recommend an appropriate remediation approach, configure the platform, validate the results with stakeholders, and communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences.

For this particular project, I would advertise the role as "ServiceNow SPM/PPM Consultant – PMO & Portfolio Management" rather than simply "ServiceNow Developer. xhyhwjd " That title better reflects the combination of SPM functional expertise, hands-on configuration, reporting, remediation, and stakeholder-facing consulting required for the engagement.
