Description The role of the “Industrial Millwright I” position requires the mechanical skills to inspect, install, repair and adjust manufacturing equipment within the facility. It also requires basic knowledge of fluid power and pneumatic equipment, including hydraulic systems, plant utilities such as high volume water pumps and air compressors. The candidate should have good communication and problem‑solving skills and be responsible for lubricating and maintaining the BMP manufacturing and ancillary equipment. Working Conditions Normal manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing materials and product up to 50 pounds, standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hard‑hats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in industrial mechanical maintenance preferred; may be waived if on‑the‑job training and sufficient work history are validated. Pre‑employment testing may be required. 1 to 3 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience with equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Above‑average troubleshooting skills and ability to read mechanical drawings and basic schematics for pneumatic and fluid power systems. Basic understanding of simple electrical circuits as they relate to mechanical equipment and sequencing of mechanical components. General knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes and procedures, and the ability to learn new processes. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to read operating and maintenance instructions, procedure/equipment manuals, and mechanical schematic drawings; ability to write routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively with co‑workers. Spanish as a second language would be beneficial but not required. Ability to work with a flexible or rotating schedule that may require overtime when needed. Responsibilities Maintain a good working relationship with operating personnel to maximize equipment reliability and uptime. Responsible for the mechanical maintenance of machinery and equipment within the facility. Analytically troubleshoot and resolve mechanical malfunctions back to OEM specifications. Install and perform proper alignment of equipment, including gear reducers, motors, couplings, conveyor components, etc. Routinely check the performance of mechanical equipment and perform assigned preventive maintenance tasks. Properly maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders. Follow all PPE policies and safety rules. Operate within standard operating procedures and job safety analysis. Assist and participate in continuous improvement programs. Perform filtration and contamination control. Activities Attend and participate in line‑out meetings to communicate daily activities between incoming and outgoing maintenance shift crews. Make necessary equipment repairs during the shift to maintain equipment availability for production. Complete maintenance shift reports and corresponding paperwork. Participate in production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers as they pertain to equipment reliability and availability. Perform required daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual check sheets as established by the maintenance department and OEM suppliers. Prepare reports, forms, records, and related paperwork for the assigned area. Operate a forklift, overhead crane, manlift or carry deck as required. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris. Carry out other duties as assigned. Authority and Obligation This position has the authority to stop an operation if it is deemed necessary for imminent safety or possible equipment damage. However, the employee must notify the operations supervisor on duty and follow the established notification procedure if the interruption is for an extended period. #J-18808-Ljbffr
