Mortgage Loan Officer

• Develop sales leads independently and in cooperation with Financial Center Managers or Business Development Officers to attain new residential lending business relationships and product sales
• Manage a book of business for residential lending customers, including a pipeline of loans, customer inquiries, and relationships with Realtors and other COIs
• Assist borrowers with financing applications and gather and enter complete information
• Analyze borrower qualifications to determine prequalified loan amounts and identify appropriate loan programs and pricing
• Deliver customer service by returning calls, answering questions, and educating prospective borrowers on loan products
• Comply with state, federal, and local laws, including fair lending and nondiscrimination requirements
• Develop internal and external referral relationships to generate loan applications
• Meet and exceed sales activity, productivity, and processing-time goals
• Serve as a trusted advisor by demonstrating knowledge of lending functions, bank policy, and underwriting criteria
• Represent the bank professionally as a team member
• Identify borrower cross-selling opportunities and provide warm transfers to internal partners
• Complete annual compliance and job-related training
• Comply with bank regulations, policies, procedures, privacy, and ethics standards
• Report to the Residential Lending Sales Manager and interact with operations staff, department leaders, and back-office personnel
• Interact with borrowers, depositors, referral sources, realtors, and vendors

Requirements High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred Minimum of two years’ previous experience in a sales oriented environment, with proven track record of success, required Network of established referral sources preferred Must be compliant with the SAFE Act and registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) Strong working knowledge of underwriting guidelines for each agency, as well as bank overlays for portfolio business Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to manage time extraordinarily well Excellent presentation and public speaking skills Familiarity with Microsoft Office Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in residential lending, including borrower qualification analysis, compliance with the SAFE Act, and strong customer service skills.
