Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a dynamic hospital setting. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care for oncology patients, working with a dedicated interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered care to medical-surgical oncology patients.
- Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments.
- Monitor and manage patient conditions, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Implement and follow through with oxygen protocols and non-invasive airway management.
- Ensure peripheral line care and management are conducted safely.
- Follow infection control measures, including isolation precautions and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Engage in rapid response team activation when necessary.
- Utilize computerized documentation for accurate patient records.
- Support patients and families through all stages of cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon – must include license status in application.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical or Telemetry nursing within the last 3 years.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA.
- Ability to float to other units as required, including nearby hospitals.
Work Schedule
This position requires 12-hour day shifts from 07:00 to 19:30, with a rotating weekend schedule every other weekend, but no guaranteed time off (GTE) requests beyond 2 weeks without prior approval.
Unit Highlights
The position is located in a 30-bed oncology unit that integrates services from the oncology institute and palliative care team. Nurses will receive specialty training and certification in chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration within one year of hiring.
Staffing Ratios
- RN to patient ratio: 1:4-6
- CNA to patient ratio: 1:6-13 on days and 1:10-13 on nights
