Mammography Technologist - First Shift

Perform a variety of technical activities associated with the performance of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. Duties and responsibilities of this level include operating mammographic radiographic equipment, positioning patients, calculating exposure factors, assisting physicians, performing quality control functions, evaluating radiographs, preparing medical supplies, explaining procedures to patients, charging mammographic procedures and supplies, providing orientation to new Mammographers, providing education and training to student Mammographers, assisting in maintenance and compilation of statistical data, demonstrating proficiency in performing all breast imaging procedures, monitoring mammography section procedures and supply charges, and performing other related duties incidental to the work.

Required qualifications include education at the graduate level or completion of a program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification, ARRT certification in radiography, ARRT advanced certification in mammography, FDA/MQSA qualification, and BLS certification. Experience requirements vary by level, with Level I requiring a minimum of 25 mammography exams under direct supervision, Level II requiring at least two years' experience as a Mammography technologist, and Level III requiring a minimum of 4 years' experience within the specialty modality.
