Job Details Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown Job Type: Travel RN / Travel Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights Schedule: Weekender contract; 36 hours per week Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: 11/09/2026 Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010 Location: Lima, Ohio Setting: Adult PCU/Stepdown unit with cardiac and post-procedure patients Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of assignment or compact licensure At least 1 year of RN experience required Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred BLS required; ACLS preferred at hire and required within 6 months of start NIH Stroke Certification preferred Experience with pre/post cath lab patients required Experience caring for ventilated and tracheostomy patients required Comfortable working weekender nights, including every other weekend and holiday coverage as assigned Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork in a high-acuity healthcare environment Ability to meet the physical demands of bedside nursing and follow safety and infection-control practices Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care Administer medications safely and in accordance with nursing standards and protocols Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team and serve as a point of contact for patients and families Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac and respiratory needs, including post-cath, post-pacer, and other stepdown cases Care for patients receiving drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Insulin Provide care for patients with vents, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and nasal cannula support Assess hemodynamics, manage chest tubes, and assist with temporary pacing and conscious sedation as needed Respond quickly to changes in condition and deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care Promote patient safety, education, and positive outcomes in a collaborative care setting Why You'll Love This Travel Nursing Opportunity Work in a supportive PCU and stepdown environment that values clinical excellence and teamwork Gain experience with a diverse adult and geriatric patient population Enjoy a travel assignment in a friendly Ohio healthcare setting with a strong local feel Build your critical care and progressive care nursing skill set in a rewarding RN job Apply now to join this Progressive Care Unit travel nursing job in Lima, Ohio and take the next step in your RN career.
