What you’ll do: Manage and mentor a team of mobile developers with deep media expertise in a fast‑paced, quick‑to‑market environment Set strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver Collaborate with Product, Operations, Data Science, Engineering teams, and executive stakeholders Evaluate the technical trade‑offs of major decisions and provide strong technical mentorship Hire, grow, and retain high‑performing team members Utilize AI tools and high‑velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while upholding rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production‑ready quality Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Background building high‑performance, reliable media systems, including optimizations from video player to playback UI/UX Experience leading an engineering team Ability to lead and execute large, complex technical initiatives Proficiency in, or strong aptitude for, leveraging AI tools to streamline development with judgment to audit generated output for architectural integrity, performance bottlenecks, and security risks Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to keep at the forefront of engineering trends Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent years of practical work experience 9+ years of post‑Bachelor software development experience, or a Master’s degree with 7+ years of post‑grad experience, or a PhD with 3+ years of post‑grad experience 1+ years of experience managing a team Experience with distributed systems and web development Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with driving large‑scale initiatives from ideation to completion Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi‑stakeholder environments Experience with operations‑heavy systems or products Benefits Snap Inc. offers the following benefits: paid parental leave, comprehensive medical coverage, emotional and mental health support programs, and compensation packages that allow you to share in Snap’s long‑term success. Compensation In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The starting pay is determined based on job‑related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The salary may be negotiable within the zone range. Each zone’s base salary range for this position is as follows: Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): $229,000 – $343,000 annually. Zone B: $218,000 – $326,000 annually. Zone C: $195,000 – $292,000 annually. This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
