Sales Account Representative - Power Electronics OEM (36223)

Job Description

A Japanese electronics manufacturer near Arlington Heights, IL is seeking a Technical Sales Account Representative to support their business development operations. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Business, Marketing, Electronics Engineering, or a similar field, prior B2B account management or sales experience, basic working knowledge of electronics, semiconductors, and/or circuit board technology, and the ability to work as part of a team for the success of the company.

This is a full-time and direct hire role, offering full benefits including company-paid health, dental, and vision insurances, 401k options, PTO, and hybrid work options. This is a salaried position with a company bonus—commission is not part of the regular compensation structure. Average travel amount is anticipated to be between 25 – 50% nationwide, dependent on business needs.

Technical Sales Account Representative responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain a network of prospective customer accounts to produce new sales leads
\n
• Prospect new clients and build strong business relationships
\n
• Connect with existing accounts in the automotive and manufacturing industries to understand their current business needs, and alert them to new product and service offerings that may be of interest
\n
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to create business strategies that effectively position the company competitively in the electronics marketplace
\n
• Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals that effectively communicate the product's utility to prospective customers
\n
• Travel regularly to visit clients and establish a visible presence at their location, along with attending trade shows, exhibitions, and conferences
\n
• Provide excellent customer service at every stage of the sales process, ensuring customers receive their order exactly to their specifications
\n
• Collaborate with engineering, production and quality departments on product changes and custom orders
\n
• Maintain customer files, sales reports, part number files, and pricing
\n
• Provide accurate quotations for products
\n
• Assist in other areas when necessary
\n

Technical Sales Account Representative requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree, ideally in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
\n
• Minimum 3 years of prior B2B sales or account management experience, preferably with other electronics manufacturers or related industries
\n
• An exceptionally high degree of professionalism, with excellent communication and customer service skills
\n
• Ability to travel 25 - 50% nationwide throughout the U.S, Canada, and Mexico. Occasional international travel may also be required.

• Ability to work independently and maintain high sales performance
\n
• Prior experience in a multicultural office environment is a plus.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
