Position Overview Tiffany & Co. is seeking a Staff II – General Accounting to join the North America Accounting team in Parsippany, NJ. This role is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with prior experience to deepen their expertise in intercompany accounting within a complex, multi-entity environment spanning US and Canadian operations. The Staff II Accountant plays an important role in the integrity of North America’s accounting processes, with direct responsibility for a meaningful portfolio of recurring monthly work across intercompany merchandise and miscellaneous transactions, settlements, reconciliations, and close support activities. This role owns critical accounting deliverables that help ensure financial activity between entities is recorded accurately, reconciled timely, and resolved in close partnership with domestic and international stakeholders. Beyond core accounting execution, this position offers exposure to monthly close analytics, cross-functional collaboration, and business process improvement efforts, including opportunities to support automation and systems-related initiatives that enhance the efficiency and control environment of the accounting function. From day one, you will support accounting activities that are central to the integrity of financial reporting across US and Canadian operations. You will work across intercompany merchandise and miscellaneous transactions, settlements, reconciliations, monthly close analyses, and issue resolution with stakeholders across domestic and international markets. Your work will require both precision and judgment, and will contribute directly to the quality, timeliness, and control of the close process. Specifically, you will have the opportunity to: Build deeper expertise in intercompany accounting across a multi-entity, cross-border environment Take ownership of recurring monthly accounting responsibilities that are essential to close accuracy and financial integrity Work closely with domestic and international stakeholders to investigate and resolve reconciling items and operational issues Strengthen your analytical capabilities through monthly P&L review and close support responsibilities Contribute to process improvement and automation efforts designed to reduce manual work and improve efficiency Gain exposure to system-related initiatives and testing that support the evolution of accounting processes and controls Location: This position follows a hybrid schedule requiring 4 days in-office at our Whippany, NJ location and 1 day remote. Key Accountabilities Own recurring monthly responsibilities related to intercompany merchandise activity across US and Canadian operations, ensuring balances are matched, settlements are recorded accurately, and discrepancies are resolved on a timely basis. Perform detailed monthly review and matching of intercompany accounts receivable (AR) and payable (AP) balances Communicate with markets to identify and resolve discrepancies or aged items to be investigated Partner with inventory accounting and operations team to investigate and reconcile various transaction types Process and record all intercompany cash movement and settlements related to merchandise transactions, ensuring timely application and verify that all intercompany merchandise related cash movement is correctly reflected. Reconcile intercompany sales between the general ledger and the intercompany data warehouse. Support the accounting and settlement of intercompany miscellaneous activity across domestic and international markets, serving as a key point of coordination for recurring transactions and issue resolution. Serve as the key contact for all intercompany miscellaneous transactions and inquiries across domestic and international markets, ensuring consistent application of intercompany policies and procedures. Prepare and issue intercompany miscellaneous billings to international markets for review ensuring completeness, timeliness and accuracy. Process and record all cash settlements for intercompany miscellaneous billings, ensuring proper allocation. Execute and record necessary intercompany reclassification entries between markets Reconcile intercompany miscellaneous accounts and proactively communicate with respective markets to investigate and resolve identified discrepancies to ensure timely resolution. Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities through recurring accounting entries, analytical review, and reconciliation support that help maintain the integrity of financial reporting. Recording interest and principal and FX movements on intercompany loans. Reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) variations for Selling, Marketing, and General & Administrative (G&A) functions for US and Canadian entities, including collaborating with North America's Finance team and other business partners to provide detailed commentary and insights. Reviewing monthly intercompany matching reports generated from HFM to ensure timely resolution of any discrepancies. Support external audit activities through assigned analyses and close-related deliverables. Participate in efforts to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and reduce manual effort across assigned workstreams. Support business process improvement efforts within the accounting function. Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation and more efficient reconciliation processes. Contribute to broader departmental priorities and initiatives that support the continued development of accounting processes and systems. Support management with special assignments and priority initiatives Assist with testing related to IT initiatives, system implementations, or enhancements impacting intercompany accounting activities Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 2-3 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on intercompany accounting or general ledger management within a multi-entity or global organization. Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas) and comfortable analyzing large amounts of data. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact effectively with cross-functional and international teams. Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule during monthly and year-end closing, priority projects and special assignments. Preferred Qualifications A CPA or CPA candidate. Public Accounting Experience. Retail related experience or inventory related exposure. Experience in JD Edwards E1, Hyperion Financial Management, and Power BI. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates' relevant skills and experience.
