Optometrist or Ophthalmologist – Veteran Disability Assessments

We are looking for a committed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to join our organization in conducting medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. This position with our team involves performing comprehensive eye examinations for Veterans, focusing exclusively on assessments in a rewarding, non-treatment capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-person disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans.
• Review and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online portal.
• Perform detailed eye examinations, including Visual Field Testing (VFT) .
• Accurately document findings from exams and complete necessary VA forms.

Note: This position does not involve treatment or prescribing medications. Disability determinations are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) , not by the provider.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Part-Time, 3-4 days per week
• Location: In-person role
• Caseload: Average of 4-6 Veterans per day
• Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools

Requirements:

• Possession of an active and unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license.
• Experience with Visual Field Testing (VFT) .
• Comfortable utilizing technology for record review and documentation.
