About the job Service Manager Service Manager / Japanese Bilingual Required Location: Torrance, CA Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 (DOE) About the Role We areseeking a Service Manager to lead and oversee our Service Department. This role combines hands-on technical knowledge with operational leadership, requiring a professional who can effectively guide technicians while ensuring efficient and high-quality service operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of service work at a practical level and the ability to manage both technical and administrative responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Provide technical guidance and oversight to service technicians in machine cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting Maintain sufficient hands-on knowledge to support, coach, and evaluate technician performance Participate in hands-on work when necessary to support operations, training, or issue resolution Ensure adherence to standardized service procedures and quality standards Assist in resolving escalated technical issues in collaboration with senior technicians or specialists Promote continuous improvement in technical skills and service consistency across the team Service Operations Management Team Management Supervise service technicians nationwide, ensuring productivity, accountability, and adherence to company standards Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and development support Maintain professionalism, discipline, and team morale Administrative Oversight Oversee scheduling, timekeeping, and compliance with company policies Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of service activities Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate with Sales Operations and other departments to align service with business objectives Facilitate effective communication across teams Customer and Service Quality Handle escalated customer concerns professionally and ensure timely resolution Maintain high standards of service quality and customer satisfaction Operational Improvement Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, workflow, and service delivery Support implementation of operational strategies and process improvements Vendor Coordination Manage vendor relationships and ensure service-related resources meet operational needs Qualifications Required Japanese-English bilingual required to communicate with clients and internal teams Experience in technical service, maintenance, or equipment-related environments Working knowledge of machine cleaning, maintenance, or troubleshooting Ability to guide, coach, and evaluate technical staff Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to manage both technical and administrative responsibilities Preferred Japanese, Spanish, and English trilingual skills Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a technical environment Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Benefits Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) Work Schedule Monday to Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Work Environment Work is performed in a technical service environment with moderate noise levels Exposure to service equipment, cleaning tanks, and operational machinery Involves handling cleaning agents and chemicals in accordance with safety protocols Requires physical activity including standing, walking, and occasional lifting May involve working around material handling equipment such as forklifts Additional Information This role is not purely administrative and does not require a master technician level. The Service Manager is expected to have sufficient practical experience to lead effectively while leveraging the expertise of technicians and specialists as needed.
