Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Pulmonary Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIH; ABLS preferred Must-Have: Experience with ICU/PCU level of care. Burn experience preferred. Cardiac rhythm proficiency. NIH certification. Hemo-dynamic drip titration proficiency. Description: Burn experience preferred, but not required. Number of beds: 6. Patient ratios vary on acuity. Adult-only unit. Unit staffed with Charge Nurse, RNs, Nurse Externs, and Paramedics. Equipment includes Alaris IV Pumps, Hill-Rom beds, call light system, and GE cardiac monitoring equipment. Documentation system utilized is Meditech. Scheduling requirements include 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week scheduling period. Floating to similar units, ICU/PCU/CCU, may be required, with agency staff first to float if needed. Patient experience expectations involve upholding mission and values. Every patient should be treated with courtesy and respect. Bedside shift report requirements must be adhered to. Preferred certifications include BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIH, and ABLS, though not all are required. Unit performs procedures such as debridement, dressing changes, line insertions, chest tube insertions, and post-op procedural care. The unit has a strong multidisciplinary model comprising a burn surgeon, nurse practitioner, intensivist, rehab, dietary, pharmacist, and case management teams. Dedicated burn surgeon and APP on staff. Team-oriented atmosphere fosters a family-like environment. Core staff has significant experience. Travel nurse-friendly unit. Dedicated unit-based paramedics available. Use of mobile phones for communication with providers and staff. Critical care intensivists available 24/7. AirStrip used for cardiac rhythms. Discharge lounge available for patient convenience.
