Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Telemetry – Milwaukee, WI. This position provides nursing care for patients with cardiac and vascular conditions in an office-based surgical setting. The role includes telemetry monitoring, cardiac medication management, wound care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical support teams.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend rotation is every other weekend, with no block scheduling.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and two years of experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for cardiac and vascular patients, including telemetry monitoring and management of cardiac medication infusions.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Provides care for patients with heart failure, electrophysiology studies, atrial fibrillation, dysrhythmias, pre-surgical needs, amputations, and cardiac or vascular conditions. Responsibilities include management of Primacor, amiodarone, Cardizem, dobutamine, heparin, furosemide, and insulin infusions; chest tube and tracheostomy care; telemetry interpretation; wound care; and pain assessment before and after medication administration. Patient assignments may range from four to eight patients depending on shift, with support from charge nursing, unit secretarial staff, hospitalists, respiratory therapy, centralized telemetry monitoring, and phlebotomy services. Orientation includes at least one shift to learn unit workflow. Floating may occur to comparable inpatient areas or to appropriate medical-surgical assignments in the intensive care unit.
