Physical Therapist (PT) Onsite Local Contract Starts 6/22/202613 weeks Title: Physical Therapist Length of assignment: 13 Weeks Shift: 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM Minimum guarantee: 40 Hours Location: McComb, MS Position Summary The Physical Therapist will primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in‑home setting for the older adult population. The in‑home setting could be a patient’s private residence or in a patient’s room in an independent living facility. The position allows the Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat in the most functional environment which is the patient’s home. The Physical Therapist assesses, develops, and delivers physical therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation, identifies needs for referral to other disciplines, implements individualized therapy programs, and instructs patients and caregivers in essential skills and functions to promote independence and productivity, while diminishing or correcting pathology. Responsibilities / Accountabilities Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards. Adhere to department and patient treatment schedule, timely clinical and billing documentation and work‑related meetings. Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences and other related meetings. Makes referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address the comprehensive needs of the patient. Consult with rehabilitation team members to select appropriate therapeutic regimen consistent with patient needs and capabilities. Adapt program and/or plan of care according to individual patient needs. Promote a safe environment and enforce elimination of fire and safety hazards. Order supplies and equipment as necessary. Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports equipment repair needs. Place patient service first: ensure patients and families receive highest quality service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes individual needs and rights. Screens, examines and evaluates patients, including history, systems review, application of appropriate tests and measures; synthesizes and interprets findings to establish diagnosis, identify impairments, determine predicted level of improvement and time required to achieve it, identify precautions/contraindications, and design a plan of care. Develop appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with patient and caregivers; implement the physical therapy treatment plan; complete all related documentation and record keeping. Services include therapeutic exercise (aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination, agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, and endurance training); functional training; manual therapy; airway clearance techniques; integumentary repair and protection; use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent and mechanical modalities; health and wellness; education on chronic disease management; falls assessment and interventions to reduce fall risk; case management in home and community. Designs, fabricates, fits and/or applies adaptive devices and trains patients in the use of adaptive devices including orthotics and prosthetics. Select appropriate activities suited to the individual’s physical and mental capacity, intelligence level, and interest. Instruct patient in skills and techniques required for participation in mobility activities; evaluate progress, attitudes, and behavior related to rehabilitative potential. Perform routine reexamination as needed/required to modify/progress plan of treatment. Incorporate health and wellness programming into treatment plans for patients. Perform home and community mobility assessments and provide recommendations for safe mobility in home and community space. Perform other related duties as required. Specific Educational/Vocational Requirements Valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice or proof of license eligibility. Master’s degree in Physical Therapy, or Master’s degree in a Physical Therapy related field in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, or Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience. Degree earned outside of the U.S. evaluated as U.S. equivalent to a degree in Physical Therapy. Valid driver’s license or reliable, independent transportation to and from patient residences. Job Skills Good organizational and time management skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Compliance Complies with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures, including but not limited to those within the Compliance and Ethics Program, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA. Participates in required orientation and training programs. Promptly reports concerns and suspected incidences of non‑compliance to supervisor, Compliance Liaison or to the Compliance Officer via the Integrity Hotline.
