Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in an outpatient surgery center setting, requiring a strong ophthalmology background and a minimum of 3 years of PACU experience.

Details

• Outpatient surgery center setting, located adjacent to the main acute care hospital facility
• PACU department serving post-surgical patients, with a strong ophthalmology patient focus
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00–16:30)
• No weekend requirements
• Post-shift on-call required from 18:00–21:00; frequency varies based on department need
• Block scheduling is not available
• Epic EMR experience required
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; pending licensure is not accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 3 years of PACU experience required
• Phase I and Phase II PACU experience required
• Ophthalmology experience required
• First-time travelers considered only with a minimum of 5 years of PACU experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to outpatient surgical patients, with an emphasis on ophthalmology cases
• Scrub color for RNs is royal blue
• Free parking available on-site
• Candidates who were previously permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered but at a different rate; please inquire for details
• Any RTO requests must be submitted upfront; scheduling requests related to additional outside employment will not be considered
• Scheduling preferences may be considered but are not guaranteed
• Holiday coverage expectations should be discussed with your recruiter
