Exciting Opportunity at MSK : We are currently seeking overnight Histotechnologists or Histotechnicians to join our Histology team! Role Overview:
- Section paraffin and frozen tissue specimens as requested.
- Basic histology techniques (e.g. embed, microtomy, process tissue).
- Analyze and troubleshoot equipment-related issues
- Maintains vital quality control and assurance records
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field with knowledge of Biology, Chemistry
- NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Technician, or Certified Histology Technician license preferred. Eligibility to obtain NYS license required
- Ability to perform dilutions and laboratory calculations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong digital literacy including working with databases
- Problem solver, who can manage complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
- Good decision maker, with proven success of making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward.
- Committed and eager to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM or 1 AM to 9:00 AM, 100% onsite
- Location: Main Hospital Campus, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY.
