We are adding Senior level Mechanical Checkers highly skilled in Smartplant 3D to our Kiewit Industrial Engineering team with 7+ years of experience with relatable mechanical design and checking experience, 3D modeling for mechanical equipment/balance of plant systems for Industrial markets. If you are skilled in checking models, mechanical layouts, and piping systems we want to talk with you. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with subject matter experts, as you support he full spectrum of design, from conceptual (pre-FEED), to FEED to detailed design for design/build and EPC projects for facilities across North America. Location Full time positions can be located in our Houston Texas, Lenexa, Kansas, Lone Tree, Colorado, offices. We offer relocation assistance to our district office in Lenexa Kansas.

Responsibilities
• Utilize SmartPlant 3D to create 3D equipment models based off equipment drawings. Draft sketches, P&ID's, and model 3D equipment for industrial facilities.
• Review mechanical drawings and 3D models for mechanical systems, equipment and piping for accuracy, completeness and adherence to engineering standards. Check dimensions, tolerances and annotations to ensure they match engineering and construction requirements. May be involved with isometric drawings for systems typical for industrial energy, datacenters, bulk solids material handling, and other industrial facilities including, but not limited to, chilled water systems, heat exchangers for water circulation, cooling distribution units (CDU), Computer Room Air Handling Units (CRAH), Fan Walls, Containment walls for Air cooling, fan walls, process steam, process water, drains, and general plant/facility water, compressed air, and gas systems.
• Perform early project design work related to facility layout and equipment general arrangement.
• Develop and check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards. Lead projects and teams of mechanical designers.
• Identify inconsistences, clashes or missing information as well as check for constructability.
• Support the construction team including representing the design team on-site, answering RFI's, providing creative design solutions, etc. Coordinate with other design partners (both internal and external) including construction partners, equipment suppliers, and other engineers and designers assigned to the project or task and review work progress and results. Qualifications Bachelor's or Associates degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technology or related field preferred with 7+ years in mechanical design, performing functions as outlined above. If no advanced degree, must have highschool or GED diploma and 12 years 3D modeling/mechanical design and/or checking in Smartplant 3D for industrial facilities..
A minimum of 7 years' of industry related design experience preparing 3D models, and design documents for both mechanical systems and piping systems in Smartplant 3D/SP3D
Knowledge of piping support design, equipment design/layout and installation of systems is required. Knowledge of piping design standards, specifications and procedures is required. Experience with mechanical design for Data Centers, for chilled water, CRAH, and CDU's highly desired
Experience drafting P&ID's, schematics, drawings, conceptual locations, equipment modeling/layout in 3D and routing pipe in 3D software is required
Strong communication skills, ability to work as part of a team, detail orientation and strong problem solving skills required
Proficient in basic computing programs including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) Willingness to work contract and as direct employee. #LI-JB1 Other Requirements:
