Inherent to success in this position is organization, desire to work in a team‑oriented academic medical setting, capability to stay abreast of current developments relevant to the position, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of the duties of a Surgical Technologist Department Description The UW Medicine Outpatient Surgery Center at Harborview is a five operating room surgical unit with supporting pre‑operative, post‑operative, and sterile processing departments. The UW Medicine Outpatient Surgery Center will provide daytime surgical procedures to the community of patients that meet developed criteria. Primary Job Responsibilities Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons Work in a dynamic, fast‑paced, problem‑solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety a sterile environment Support of post‑operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization and turnover of the Operating Room Required Position Qualifications Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration. #J-18808-Ljbffr
