Mortgage Loan Officer

As a Mortgage Loan Officer with Banner Bank, you will be part of our Mortgage Lending team and help deliver superior value to our clients by originating and servicing real‑estate loans that meet the Bank’s high standards for economic value and safety. Responsibilities Originate real‑estate loans from various sources including realtors, contractors, branch personnel, referrals, walk‑in and call‑in customers. Ensure originated loans are set up in the Bank’s computer system and processed for submission to underwriting. Identify opportunities and provide financing sheets for listings and realtor/builder open houses. Attend weekend open houses, subdivision events, realtor and builder association meetings. Attend internal and external training sessions, sales meetings, and other learning opportunities. Take applications or meet with clients at branch locations and attend closing signing appointments as needed. Promote home ownership through community outreach, first‑time home buyer classes, booths at non‑profit events, and inclusive marketing in the local community. Comply with all policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations. Qualifications High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field preferred. NMLS registration required. 3+ years of residential mortgage origination experience. Proven history of closing and funding loans to meet sales goals. Knowledge of mortgage loan origination processes, procedures, regulations, and underwriting. Effective presentation, verbal and written communication, and negotiation skills. Knowledge of current market competition, sales strategies, trends, and activity. Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to real estate lending. Compensation & Benefits Up to 20% variable compensation. Monthly guarantee of $3,800 (excluding ramp‑up period).
