Overview
Registered Nurse – First Assist, Templeton, California. Travel assignment starting 08/17/2026 for 8 weeks. Guaranteed hours: 40 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital. Weekly pay: $2,908–$3,040 per week. This is a travel - temporary assignment.

Responsibilities
- Provide intraoperative First Assist duties under the surgical team, including exposure, tissue handling, hemostasis, and instrumentation.
- Assist with maintaining the sterile field, draping, and instrument counts throughout procedures.
- Collaborate with the surgeon and perioperative staff to optimize case flow and patient safety.
- Monitor intraoperative patient status, communicate changes to the team, and support anesthesia as needed.
- Document intraoperative events and assist with immediate postoperative documentation and take-over.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and adaptability across rotating case schedules and diverse surgical specialties.

Requirements
- Active California registered nurse license (RN) with current, valid licensure per state of assignment
- Mandatory BLS certification (current)
- At least two years of recent experience in the field as a First Assist role
- Must have current Epic experience
- Able to commit to an 8-week travel assignment with guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Effective communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in a fast-paced perioperative environment
