General Liability Associate Attorney

Job OverviewA law firm seeks a General Liability Associate Attorney in McLean, Virginia. This role involves handling litigation matters, providing counsel to clients, and collaborating with talented colleagues nationwide. The position offers the opportunity to work on challenging cases and litigate emerging legal issues in a hybrid work environment. Duties Support a litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including strategy development and trial preparation. Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda in state and federal courts. Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts. Manage all aspects of written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and requests for production. Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations. Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys and clients. Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case assessments and strategic recommendations. Work closely with attorneys on complex matters involving general liability and related claims. Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit development. Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff for efficient case management. Requirements JD from an ABA-accredited law school. Admitted to practice in Virginia. 2+ years of litigation experience. Experience with general liability, personal injury, premises, products, transportation, employment, or insurance litigation preferred. Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions is required. Education JD from an ABA-accredited law school. Certifications Admitted to practice in Virginia. Skills Superior analytical skills. Strong written and oral communication skills.
