Art Direction + Brand World + Content

Gaui is looking for an +5 year experience Art Director with strong taste, cultural awareness, and the technical ability to carry ideas from concept through execution.

Gaui is a social-first brand. Much of the way we build awareness, shape perception, introduce product, and grow community begins on social media.

The ideal candidate has experience leading creative teams within smaller organizations, where they have played a meaningful role in shaping the brand from within. They understand how to build a strong visual world and how that world should live across Instagram, campaigns, content, digital, and the wider brand experience.

This role sits across art direction, photography, social, design, casting, and digital. It requires someone who understands how every visual decision, from the model and location to the typography, framing, set, and Instagram feed, contributes to a larger brand world.

The Role

Working closely with the Brand Director, the Art Director will help define and evolve Gaui’s visual identity across campaigns, social, e-commerce, and physical brand experiences.

The role leads creative concepts and photoshoots from development through final execution, including casting, locations, sets, shot direction, model direction, and asset selection.

It is equally hands-on. Photography, video, content creation, design, and on-set execution are part of the position.

Because social is central to Gaui’s brand and growth strategy, creative thinking must extend beyond individual campaigns. Concepts should be built with an understanding of how they translate into content, conversation, repetition, and a consistent visual presence across social.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative concepts and visual direction for campaigns, launches, and ongoing brand storytelling from beginning to end months in advance.
• Lead photoshoots from pre-production through on-set direction and final asset selection
• Develop the world around each concept through casting, location, set, styling, lighting, typography, and shot direction
• Direct models, photographers, videographers, stylists, and creative collaborators
• Create photography, video, and social-first content directly
• Lead model research, outreach, casting, and selection
• Build moodboards, treatments, shot lists, and production references
• Conceptualize creative specifically for Instagram and other social platforms
• Shape the visual rhythm and presentation of Gaui across social
• Develop typography, layouts, graphic treatments, and broader visual systems
• Translate creative direction across website, e-commerce, email, print, and physical brand touchpoints
• Help shape the visual presentation of the website
• Maintain consistency and a high creative standard across all visual output

Qualifications + Skills

• 5+ years of experience in art direction, visual design, brand design, or a related creative role
• Experience within a smaller or growing fashion, beauty, lifestyle, or highly visual consumer brand
• Proven experience helping shape or evolve a brand’s visual identity
• Strong portfolio demonstrating world building, campaigns, photography, social, typography, and visual storytelling
• Experience leading photoshoots and making confident creative decisions on set
• Strong photography and/or video capabilities
• Strong understanding of casting, set design, styling, lighting, composition, framing, and model direction
• Excellent typography, layout, and graphic design fundamentals
• Strong understanding of Instagram and social-first brand building
• Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
• Strong awareness of fashion, photography, art, music, design, film, and contemporary culture
• Highly detail-oriented with strong planning and production instincts

The ideal candidate understands culture without relying on trends, can recognize what feels relevant before it becomes obvious, and knows how to translate references into something original to the brand.

Schedule + Work Environment

This is a full-time, in-person role based in Doral, FL, Monday through Friday.

The position includes office and studio work, photoshoots, castings, location scouting, content creation, and travel tied to Gaui’s planned creative calendar.

Photoshoots and content production are core responsibilities of the role.
