We know our people are our greatest asset and believe in providing the opportunity for on-the-job training.We currently have an opportunity for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team supporting highway projects in Kalispell, MT.QualificationsValid Driver's LicenseMinimum two(2) years of heavy equipment mechanic experience strongly preferredExperience in Construction is preferredKey FunctionsDetermines equipment's condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.Maintain, repair and trouble shoot problems on all road construction equipment and trucks. This would include paving equipment, rollers, loaders, water trucks, tractors/belly dump trailers, brooms and other various equipmentTroubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems and identifying appropriate repairsKeeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; completing winterization procedures.Ability to use software/technical programsMaintains equipment records by annotating services and repairsWork closely with other shop personnel, management and fleet administratorsAdhere to all company safety policies and procedures when completing repairs and day to day activities while in the field and/or yardSpecific SkillsWork safely and follow all safety rules and regulationsMust have own basic tool collectionEffective communication, interpersonal and time management skillsPositive Attitude and be dependableTeam oriented with the ability to work independently when necessarySelf- starterAbility to troubleshootMust be able to work overtime as neededPhysical RequirementsCapable of lifting up to 60 lbs. and 25 lbs. regularlyMove safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movementSit and/or stand up for long periods of timeReach with hands and armsBend at the waist, kneel, stoop, squat, twist, push and pullClimb ladders/stepsMust be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, and vibrationsCompensationHourly rate of pay $27 to $35 an hour based on experience for private jobs.
