Semi Truck Driver

Driving and Transportation

Operate a tractor-trailer truck for both short and long distances to deliver products to customers.

Route Planning

Plan and adjust routes to meet delivery schedules and deadlines, using GPS and other navigation tools.

Loading and Unloading

Supervise and/or assist in the safe loading and unloading of cargo. This includes counting, verifying, and securing freight to prevent damage.

Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance

Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working condition. Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

Record Keeping

Maintain accurate and detailed logs of working hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations in compliance with federal and state regulations, often using electronic logging devices (ELDs).

Communication

Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to provide status updates, report delays, or address issues.

Safety and Compliance

Follow all applicable traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company safety policies. This includes adhering to mandatory rest periods and safe driving practices.

Customer Service

Interact professionally and courteously with clients during pickups and deliveries.

Dependability

Be a reliable, trustworthy, and hardworking individual who can work independently.
