Blood Collection Staff - Customer Service

Job Description The American Red Cross is hiring a Blood Collection Staff position. Your primary responsibilities include assisting with the blood collection process, transporting and setting up equipment at collection sites, creating a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, and following all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations that are delivered to hospitals. Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, encouraging repeat visits. Maintain a detail‑oriented approach throughout the day, ensuring collected blood meets regulatory and safety standards. Drive Red Cross vehicles and coordinate with the team to set up and tear down equipment at donation sites. The position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to safely operate vehicles. Schedule and Pay Standard schedule: the role requires a variable schedule that may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Overnight travel may be required in some locations. Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance. Starting rate: $18.00 per hour, with potential increases based on experience. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills. Current, valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Physical ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights, navigate ramps and stairs, maintain manual dexterity, sit or stand for long periods, and adapt to irregular hours and frequent schedule changes. Position may require a minimum height of 60 inches. Experience conducting mobile blood drives, including setting up and tearing down equipment. Basic computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Competitive Edge Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.). Prior leadership experience.
