General ManagerPosition Summary The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, financial performance, and day-to-day operations of the club. This role drives membership growth, develops high-performing teams, ensures operational excellence, and delivers an exceptional member experience. The General Manager leads from the front by actively participating in sales activities while coaching and developing the team to consistently achieve company goals. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with a passion for fitness, strong business acumen, and a proven ability to build a culture of accountability, service, and performance.Sales Leadership & Revenue GrowthLead daily membership sales efforts through prospecting, tours, referrals, and community outreach.Execute and coach proven sales processes to maximize membership growth and club revenue.Drive personal training revenue through successful member onboarding and Success Session execution.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans to consistently achieve sales goals.Analyze club performance, revenue trends, and market opportunities to improve overall results.Team Leadership & DevelopmentRecruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop high-performing club staff.Coach Sales Associates, Personal Trainers, and leadership team members through regular feedback and performance management.Conduct one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, and development planning.Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Recognize top performers while addressing performance concerns promptly and professionally.Operations & Member ExperienceEnsure the club consistently delivers a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.Oversee all daily club operations, including member service, front desk operations, and facility standards.Maintain compliance with company policies, SOPs, and operational procedures.Ensure preventative maintenance, repair requests, and facility needs are addressed promptly.Monitor inventory, supplies, and operational expenses to maintain financial efficiency.Financial AccountabilityManage labor scheduling to maximize productivity while controlling payroll costs.Monitor club operating expenses and identify opportunities to improve profitability.Review daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to ensure progress toward business objectives.Drive membership retention through exceptional service and proactive member engagement.Maintain accountability for club profitability, revenue growth, and expense management.Communication & ExecutionLead daily huddles, weekly meetings, and monthly performance reviews.Communicate company initiatives, promotions, and operational updates effectively.Collaborate with Regional Leadership to execute strategic initiatives and achieve company goals.Ensure consistent execution of all operational, sales, and service standards throughout the club.Qualifications RequiredMinimum of 3 years of leadership experience in fitness, retail, hospitality, or a sales-driven business.Proven success leading teams and consistently achieving sales goals.Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management skills.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Experience managing budgets, payroll, scheduling, and operational performance.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.PreferredBachelor's degree in Business, Sports Management, Exercise Science, or a related field.Experience managing a fitness club or multi-department operation.Demonstrated success growing recurring revenue and improving operational performance.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Success in this role is measured by:Net Membership GrowthMembership Sales ProductionPersonal Training RevenueLead Conversion RateMember Retention & AttritionSales Activity & Follow-Up ExecutionPayroll & Labor ManagementClub EBITDA PerformanceOperational Audit ScoresTeam Development & Employee RetentionMember SatisfactionFacility Cleanliness & Brand StandardsSchedule This is a full-time leadership position requiring flexibility to meet business needs, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
