QUALIFICATIONS for Occupational Therapist (OT):

• Graduate of an approved NYS Education Department Occupational Therapy Program.
• Currently licensed and registered by the State of New York.
• Have at least one (1) year of experience in a health related facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES for Occupational Therapist (OT):

• Assessing the client needs on admission for service as appropriate .
• Implement a medical plan of care and revising as necessary.
• Initiating appropriate preventive therapeutic and rehabilitative techniques.
• Educating the client and family regarding treatment modalities and use of equipment and devices.
• Providing consultation to other health care professionals.
• Communicate with the physician and other health care professionals regarding changes in the client’s needs.
• Attends and participates in case conferences, as indicated, to share and/or gain knowledge, especially when services are provided to special populations. Such knowledge supports clinical application of occupational therapy in special populations to recognize symptoms and improve case management techniques specific to these populations.
