Job Summary:
The ORT (Operating Room Technician) position is located in an acute care setting within the surgical unit. This role involves supporting orthopedic, neurological, general, gynecological, urological, and ENT surgeries, primarily performing 10-hour daytime shifts. The technician will assist in maintaining sterile environments, preparing surgical equipment, and supporting surgical teams during procedures. Candidates with at least two years of OR experience and Cerner Surginet familiarity are preferred.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 10-hour days, from 6am to 9am start times, with call duties requiring one shift per week and every fourth weekend. Shifts do not include evenings or weekends.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in BLS, COVID vaccination, and a minimum of 2 years of OR experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner Surginet EMR system, scrub tech skills, and ability to scrub during surgeries is a plus but not required.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit handles approximately 15-25 cases daily, with around 20-25% inpatient cases. Cases primarily include orthopedic, neuro, general, gynecologic, urological, and ENT surgeries. Critical patients are transferred directly to ICU. Orientation includes one week of paperwork and one week partnered with a preceptor. The hospital can cancel up to four shifts within a 13-week assignment.
