Position Title: Custodian Reports To: Emergency Shelter Manager Employment Type: Part-time, non-exempt GENERAL FUNCTION The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly space in various areas within the building of the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES Maintaining the cleanliness of the following spaces: women's bathroom, men's bathroom, upstairs bathroom, hallways, and dorms as needed. Sanitizing floors, sinks, mirrors, and counters within these spaces Monitoring and restocking paper towels, soap dispensers and toilet paper Monitoring trash and general cleanliness of shelter spaces Communicates important information to staff OPERATION Daily working hours are flexible Would work 8-10 hours a week, part-time Cleaning supplies will be provided to you Health & Safety While performing your duties you may come into contact with biohazard materials (e.g. bodily fluids, contaminated items). Follow all safety protocols during training, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Immediately report any exposure or unsafe conditions to your supervisor EFFECT ON THE END RESULT This position ensures that the above spaces are properly maintained to promote a clean and safe environment for occupants and visitors of SBRM.
