Research Senior Associate – Department: Arts and Sciences | Physics Administration Overview The Research Senior Associate leads and conducts advanced research projects in support of departmental and institutional research initiatives. The role initiates and manages detailed research activities, contributes to the refinement and development of research methodologies, and performs advanced data analysis. The Research Senior Associate synthesizes and interprets complex data sets, ensures data integrity and accuracy, and prepares comprehensive reports and visual representations for internal and external stakeholders. This position executes research tasks with increasing independence while applying professional judgment within defined parameters. Minimum Education Required Master’s degree in Physics or equivalent experience. Required Qualifications Relevant experience as demonstrated by one of the following: One (1) year of relevant experience with a Master’s degree Three (3) years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree Expertise in cosmology, especially the analysis, modeling, and interpretation of data from large-scale spectroscopic surveys of galaxies and quasars. Strong record of peer-reviewed publications, including with the relevant collaborations for the above. Demonstrated professional research experience supporting complex research activities, including advanced data analysis, interpretation of large and complex data sets, and preparation of research reports and materials. Ability to independently lead and execute research projects of moderate scope and complexity, contribute to the development and refinement of research methodologies, and ensure data integrity, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives and timelines. Pay Range $58,700 – $77,200 Location Physics Research Building (0070) Position Details Term (Fixed Term); Scheduled Hours: 40; Shift: First Shift.
