Position Overview

We are seeking a Director, Portfolio Management , to develop a forward-looking view of portfolio performance across Arixa Capital's investment funds. The Director will translate loan-level performance into fund-level implications for returns, liquidity, leverage, portfolio construction, and investor distributions. The role will support management decisions through portfolio analysis, forecasting, scenario analysis, and loan allocation. This role does not directly manage loan workouts or negotiate financing facilities.

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Director, Portfolio Management is an LA-based or AZ-based position on a hybrid schedule with at least three (3) days in-office. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer. While not an exhaustive list, the Director, Portfolio Management will have the following responsibilities:

Portfolio Performance & Risk

• Assess portfolio performance across each investment fund, including collections, delinquencies, non-accruals, defaults, extensions, REO, losses, concentrations, and expected cash flows.
• Translate changes in loan performance into expected impacts on fund returns, NAV, liquidity, leverage, and investor distributions.
• Identify emerging portfolio risks and distinguish isolated loan-level issues from broader portfolio trends.
• Evaluate concentrations by geography, borrower, loan type, strategy, maturity, leverage, and other relevant characteristics.

Fund Returns, Forecasting & Scenario Analysis

• Analyze and explain the drivers of actual and expected fund returns, including loan yields, financing costs, cash drag, non-accruals, losses, and REO exposure.
• Own portfolio assumptions supporting fund forecasts, including collections, payoffs, defaults, recoveries, extensions, construction draws, and expected portfolio yield.
• Run downside and sensitivity scenarios to assess potential impacts on returns, liquidity, leverage, and distributions.
• Partner with Finance and FP&A to reconcile portfolio performance with fund-level results and forecasts.

Portfolio Construction, Allocation & Liquidity

• Assess proposed loan allocations in the context of fund mandates, existing exposures, liquidity, leverage capacity, concentration limits, and expected risk-adjusted returns.
• Recommend portfolio positioning and loan allocation across investment funds based on portfolio needs and investment parameters.
• Assess capital deployment and liquidity needs, including expected payoffs, construction draws, distributions/redemptions, debt capacity, and new investment activity.
• Identify potential over- or under-exposures and periods of excess liquidity, constrained deployment capacity, or funding pressure.

Monitoring, Reporting & Partnership

• Establish key portfolio indicators and early-warning metrics and develop concise portfolio-level trend analyses.
• Produce a monthly portfolio performance assessment explaining actual and expected returns, material portfolio changes, emerging risks, and implications for liquidity and distributions.
• Participate in Investment Committee and portfolio review meetings, providing a fund-level perspective on investment and portfolio decisions.
• Partner with Risk Management, Credit, Treasury, Capital Markets, Originations, and Finance teams to incorporate portfolio developments into decision-making and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• · 7–10+ years of relevant experience in portfolio management, private credit, real estate credit, investment management, structured finance, or leveraged credit.
• · Demonstrated experience evaluating loan portfolios and connecting credit performance to fund-level returns, liquidity, leverage, and NAV.
• · Experience with private investment funds, fund-level leverage, warehouse financing, liquidity management, or similar private credit structures strongly preferred.
• · Strong financial modeling, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex portfolio issues for senior management.
• · Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Real Estate, or a related discipline.

Key Attributes for Success

The ideal candidate can move comfortably between individual loan performance and the broader economics of an investment fund. They are analytical, commercially minded, comfortable challenging assumptions, and able to identify changes in expected portfolio performance before they are fully reflected in reported fund results.

Compensation

This position is exempt, full-time, with salary range: $165K - $200K , plus discretionary bonus potential.
