Locums - Maywood, Illinois Gastroenterology Opportunity

Clinical Role RecruitWell is seeking a Board Certified Gastroenterologist for an ongoing locums opportunity in Maywood, Illinois. This hospital-based role includes weekday clinical coverage, overnight call, weekend 24-hour call, and procedural responsibilities in the hospital GI labs. One full-time equivalent is needed, although multiple providers may be used to fill the schedule.

Assignment Details

• Start: ASAP

• Ongoing need

• Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

• Weeknight call: 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM

• Weekend coverage: 24-hour call

• 1.0 FTE needed

• Multiple providers may be considered to fill the coverage requirement

Position Highlights

• Hospital-based Gastroenterology opportunity

• Ongoing locums need

• Mix of daytime clinical coverage and call

• Approximately 12-15 procedures per locum per day

• Approximately 12 hospital-based patients per locum per day

• Approximately 15 patients per day

• Established group of 13 physicians

• GI procedures performed in hospital-based GI labs

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Gastroenterology care

• Perform scheduled GI procedures

• Manage hospital-based Gastroenterology patients

• Provide weekday overnight call coverage

• Provide 24-hour weekend call coverage

• Perform procedures across hospital campus GI labs as needed

• Collaborate with an established Gastroenterology physician group

Procedures & Skills

• EGD

• Small bowel biopsy

• Lower GI endoscopy

• Sigmoidoscopy

• Colonoscopy

• Capsule deployment

• Esophageal dilation

Support & Technology

• 13 physicians in the Gastroenterology group

• Hospital-based GI labs

• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology required

• Active Illinois medical license required with no exceptions

• DEA required

• Illinois CSR required

Credentialing

• Estimated credentialing timeframe: Approximately 3 months

• Active Illinois license must already be in hand

• Hospital-based Gastroenterology service

• Established group of 13 physicians

• Procedural responsibilities span hospital GI lab locations

• Multiple locums providers may be utilized to meet the full coverage need
