This important role focuses on delivering high-quality special education services through a mix of pull-out groups and individualized support, including for non-verbal students who spend the majority of their day in a specialized classroom with paraprofessionals.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active special education teaching certification
• Experience working with upper elementary students (grades 5–6) strongly preferred
• Familiarity with a variety of instructional approaches for diverse learning needs
• Previous exposure to supporting non-verbal students is an asset
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work closely with paraprofessionals and other staff
• Strong organizational abilities and a flexible mindset
• Commitment to maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs
• Lead pull-out groups focused on academic and social development
• Deliver targeted interventions and support, adapting materials for accessibility
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals to ensure consistency and continuity of care for non-verbal students
• Communicate with families and team members regarding progress and strategies
• Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with special education regulations
• Cultivate a supportive atmosphere that encourages student growth and confidence
