Safety Coordinator

Job Description Job Description ** Safety Coordinator** Put people to work. Do the right thing every day. Tidewater Staffing, Inc. is seeking a dependable and motivated Safety Coordinator to support shipyard, industrial, and warehouse operations throughout Hampton Roads. This is a hands-on safety role involving regular onsite interaction within active shipyard and warehouse environments. The ideal candidate is comfortable walking jobsites, identifying hazards, communicating safety expectations, supporting associates in the field, and helping maintain safe and compliant work environments for both employees and clients. ** Key Responsibilities** Conduct onsite safety inspections, walkthroughs, and Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) Identify unsafe conditions and assist with corrective actions Assist with incident investigations, documentation, and safety reporting Support employee safety orientations and ongoing safety training Help ensure proper PPE use and compliance with company safety policies Communicate professionally with associates, supervisors, clients, and management regarding safety concerns and expectations Assist with maintaining OSHA compliance and company safety standards across multiple job sites Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to local job sites Strong attendance, communication, and problem-solving skills Comfortable working in shipyard, warehouse, and industrial environments Ability to gain access to local shipyards and industrial facilities Comfortable using email, digital documentation systems, and safety reporting tools ** Preferred Qualifications** Shipyard, warehouse, industrial, or construction safety experience preferred Military experience is a plus Bilingual abilities are a plus Experience conducting inspections, safety walkthroughs, or employee training preferred.
