Our client, an educational institution dedicated to fostering a safe and clean learning environment, is seeking a Custodian to join their team. As a Custodian, you will be part of the Facilities Support team supporting the school's daily operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Custodian
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Pay Rate: $11.00 - $13.00/hour
Position Type: 5-Month Contract with likely conversion to permanent
Shift: Monday - Friday; 6:00AM - 2:30PM
Monday - Friday; 7:00AM - 3:30PM
Monday - Friday; 5pm - 10pm (Extra hours available upon request)
What's the Job?
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, gyms, offices, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors to maintain cleanliness and safety
- Empty trash and recycling containers regularly
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as desks, doorknobs, and railings
- Refill supplies including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper, and set up or break down rooms for school events or activities
What's Needed?
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Slip-Resistant Shoes
- Black Cargo-Type Pants
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
